I enjoy creating new, beautiful articles of clothing. I have the knowledge to take a picture of a piece of clothing and recreate it pretty darn close. I am no designer. I am a pattern maker and seamstress.

In this blog, I get to "show off" some of my lovely creations. I do take requests. In fact, I prefer original pieces. They are intriguing, exciting, and unique.

The "Miri" Blessing Dress

Update.  It's been a while since I've posted.  Life with several children gets busy.  Especially as they get older.  But I want to share the "Miri" Blessing Dress.

This gorgeous dress began as a 1990's wedding dress.  Complete with lace, sequins and pearls, the wedding dress was re-purposed to create a gorgeous, flowing pick-ups style infant blessing dress.
Skirt Back. Flowing & Beautiful.
Headband & Bodice
Updated with infant Headband.  A piece of lace from the wedding train was cut and made into a headband to give a sweet, 20's style headpiece.  Additional lace from the train was also cut and placed onto the bodice to compliment the lace at the skirt hem.  It adds beautiful detail to an already beautiful dress.
Sweet little booties
The Booties / shoes were purchased.  Socks were crocheted with clear beads.  They compliment the lace detail at the skirt hem wonderfully.

This "Miri" Dress was a custom made dress.  I obtained the wedding dress and continued with the blessing dress detail as inspired.  I am absolutely proud of my work.  The dress was gorgeous on this sweet, little babe.

This dress it topped off with a lovely, matching headband with satin ribbon and bow on the headband and center waist.

The "Celeste" Blessing Dress

Beautiful baby, Beautiful Dress.

This dress I used Polyester Shantung accented with rose gimp and white pearls. The matching headband is pearlized stretch fabric with the gimp and pearls.
I love this dress!
This dress features a square neck lined, shirred bodice trimmed with roses and pearls.

The full skirt has two tucks, trimmed with the same rose and pearls.
It also has a beautiful ruffle hem, made of the same fabric.

The back of the dress is closed with a zipper, and accented with a satin ribbon tie.
Shoes & socks were found and purchased separately. They go along perfectly.

The "Lillian" Blessing Dress

The "Lillian" Blessing Dress is a shorter, simplified version of the previous, "Celeste" Dress. The skirt length is 16" as opposed to the 21" of the "Celeste".
For this dress, Polyester Satin Charmeuse was the fabric of choice. It features simple, straight short sleeves, a square neckline with bodice shirring, and two tucks in the skirt, all accented with pink rose gimp.

The back has button closures and a small satin ribbon tie.
A lovely dress for any baby girl.

The "Adalyn" Blessing Dress

--As soon as I get pictures of the sweet baby in this dress, I'll post pictures. They will look so much better than these. . .

The "Adalyn" has a pearl & embroidered Organza overlay with Bridal Satin. The overlay really makes this dress breathtakingly beautiful with it's sequins and pearls. The underskirt is hemmed with gathered Tulle. This dress has a delicate ruffle at the sleeve hem and is trimed with daintypearls at the neckedge to give it "just that right touch." The satin ribbon accents at the waistline.

"Adalyn" has a full ribbon bow in the back, and a zipper closure. The dress is just a touch longer than full traditional length, sitting at 29" instead of the traditional 26" from neck to hem.

Hem detail up close.

Any comments or suggetions are welcome.

This dress is made with 100% Embroidered Cotton.
The design includes a round neckline, puff baby doll sleeves, and a dirdle (rectangle) full skirt. This dress also has an underskirt, which the trim and lace are attached at the hem.

It is accented with a satin embroidered ribbon at the waistline, sleeve and skirt hem. It also has bows and rosettes, as well as lace at the sleeve and underskirt hem.

What sets this dress apart is the satin trim,
and the embroidered skirt with lace and ribbon trim. Absolutely Lovely!
